Aberdeen

When the majority of people decide they need a holiday they immediately assume they have to go overseas. There are all the usual suspects touted in the initial planning – Majorca, Ibiza , Cyprus – but rarely Aberdeen . This is probably because most people who live in northern Europe have to deal with no sunshine for 300+ days of the year, and so they are immediately drawn to sunnier climes. Unfortunately for the tourist board of Aberdeen , the weather will always be against them, but this doesn't mean the city doesn't have a wealth of interesting things to do and see for the discerning traveller.

This is a problem faced by many towns and cities in northern Europe, just like Aberdeen , with mildly inclement climates. For a location to become well known as a summer holiday destination it normally has to be able to offer some kind of beach lounging facilities, and if it doesn't then it isn't talked about in nearly as enthusiastic a manner as the places that do. This means that “non-sunny” destinations have to work twice as hard to get noticed, and unless there is some kind of special event hosted there they can often go overlooked.

This is not only a shame for places like Aberdeen but also for the tourists that miss out on visiting them. The lesson to be learned is that if you are planning a holiday; think outside the box for a moment! Before you book, do some proper research of your options online.
